Long story short week after week went by. Everytime I called I always got excuses from the receptionist and promises that they would look at it "tomorrow", but they kept not looking at it. The truck wasn't running so I couldn't just drive it to another shop. Finally after about a month they did some minimal work to it and got it running. I asked them if they could do a state inspection before I picked it up so I could know how much more work was needed. After another 3 weeks went by with no inspection done (almost 60 DAYS there in all) I had enough and went to get the truck. I was running a little late and said I would be there at 5:05 (literally) to pick it up (they closed at 5) and the receptionist said they wouldn't wait the 5 minutes for me (even though I had been waiting on them for 2 months) and wouldn't accept a credit card over the phone - so I had to ask my mother-in-law to leave work and go in to pay for me so I could just get it out of there and be done with them.
When I got there the owner was outside (yes at 5:05!), so I calmly asked him what happened - why did it take so long for them to look at my truck. The guy flipped out at me and started swearing at me. He said "Where are you from?? NEW JERSEY??" I said "No I live in Vermont, and my family lives here in Manchester" He told me he didn't believe me and that I had a "New Jersey attitude" and went on a rant from people from New Jersey. I started walking away he flipped me off. Nice.
I honestly do not understand how people like this are in business. Do yourself a favor and don't do business with this jerk.
Someone suggested this place to take an old toyota truck. I called and asked if I could bring a truck in over the weekend - the owner said he definitely had time to get to it that week, so I dropped it off. After a week I called - they hadn't even looked at it. The receptionist told me that they "had client's vehicles they had to work on." Apparently I wasn't a client.
